ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Rohit Malhotra is running for Atlanta City Council President in the November 4, 2025 election. Rohit Malhotra (pronunciation: row·hit mal·ho·truh)—or Roh, as his friends affectionately call him—is the son of Indian immigrant parents, who came to Atlanta to start their family’s small business. Rohit currently lives at the intersection of Summerhill and Grant Park and is running as a trusted community leader with 15 years of experience in advocacy, community organizing, and public policy. Rohit has a bachelor of arts from Emory University and a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
Rohit served as an Ash Innovation Fellow in the Obama Administration, and over the past 10 years, he founded and led the nationally-recognized and awarded Center for Civic Innovation—a policy advocacy organization focused on addressing inequality in Atlanta. There, he’s been a staunch advocate for neighborhood engagement, voter participation, affordable housing, and gun violence reduction.
Rohit has trained more than 200 social impact and nonprofit leaders who are focused on creating innovative solutions to meeting the needs of their communities. Their work spans from community-based violence interruption to address public safety issues to creatives using public art and storytelling focusing/centered on families impacted by police violence.
